More physics in the morning. I'll make it. Can't wait until we start chemistry and biology (my two favorite subjects!)
After physics, we headed to lunch and returned just in time to hear our humanities speaker Dr. Sikora tell us about socioeconomic status and economic impacts on health. We learned to view health as both a consumption good and an investment good. We discussed socioeconomic factors, and looked at graphs demonstrating the United States' health care expenses. An interesting statistic that caught my eye is that heavier white women earn 9% less than lighter counterparts. I honestly think that's partially because attractiveness has something to do with how much you earn. But of course, lower income can lead to obesity because a lower income means that you can't afford expensive, healthy food. It was definitely a mind-joggling lecture!
We are doing a talent show, which I hope to participate in. Stay tuned :) and I promise better pictures next time!!
